Bruce Yardley has been painting full-time since 1996. He paints exclusively in oils, working in the impressionist tradition. Here Bath''s well-known Milsom Street is shown under a grey sky. The snow in the painting is not the romantic soft billows of a country scene, instead Yardley shows the reality and difficulty of snow in an urban setting. Bruce Yardley is known for his fascination with the varied effects of light and shade and we can see this in the strong colour contrasts in this painting.

Bruce Yardley is an associate member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (ROI). He has had many one-man art shows, mainly around London.
