Having arrived back in London with my purchases, I simply wanted to say how pleased I am with the David Barnes painting. 'The Red Vase' will sit well with the Lynn Rodgie and Ian Elliot paintings. I think I was very fortunate to find the painting yesterday during my browse. I looked at the image on the website and, as we discussed, the website image, although good, does not do justice to the painting's texture and the intensity of the yellow on one of the blooms - lucky I saw it in person. The Bath gallery was easy to find, great location and well laid out - good to have so much light and space to stand back and view the art, too many places are cramped and dark leaving you unable to get a proper feel for the paintings. Carine was very helpful and enthusiastic and understood what was required, moving pictures around to ensure the best possible view prior to purchase. When I saw Ian Ledward's picture of Largo Law I was hooked immediately! I was first taken on holiday to Lundin Links (with Largo Law behind) when I was 3 months old and visited at least once a year for the next 30. So, long emotional ties to the area. I was not familiar with multi-media, but am now a convert - at least to Ian Ledward's art work. This was the first time I have purchased a picture online, without having seen work in person, and I found the process exceedingly smooth. Carine who telephoned me was a delight and very helpful. I was somewhat nervous about this being sent by post, but the picture was so well wrapped I was worrying needlessly - indeed it took me a long time to unwrap it so well was it done. We are very happy with the Stephen Brown paintings bought last week while visiting Bath for the weekend. We are very interested in considering the one of Venice too, but I will let you know about that once we have moved and have more space! We both thought your gallery is lovely and perfectly situated in Bath. The collection you had when we visited was very eye catching with lots of variety, which I think is ideal for the mix of people who must visit Bath. The gallery has so much natural light and is very spacious, which is perfect for viewing art and the downstairs space is also ideal. We will certainly be in touch again soon to review the other pictures we were interested in and to keep us updated on any further collections you will be exhibiting. My wife and I saw the O’Rourke painting on consecutive weekends in the gallery window: we liked it very much and decided to take a closer look at it. Carine was very helpful in rehanging the painting on a wall so we could admire it. Where we have found ourselves buying multiple works over time from the same gallery, it is simply because we seem to have similar tastes to the gallery owner.
